To better manage the Mac network server storage, data stored in the students group share point was deleted on August the 1st.
This became necessary due to the exponential growth in demand for disk space, particularly for video.
We always recommend that you keep your own backups of your data. Portable hard disks can be obtained quite cheaply from companies like Misco , Micro Anvika and Insight. You can also store work on an iPod or some mobile phones, though capacity is more limited.
It is also recomended to keep 2 backups not just 1, this is in addition to your working copy.
USB flash memory sticks are a useful way to transfer files between our Macs and a computer at home, but should not be used as permanent storage due to their high failure rate.
